It sure is dark out there. And during this season of long nights and short, short days, VFC staff have connected with Vermonters from a variety of backgrounds to explore how people share light—both literally and metaphorically—during the darkest time of the year.

We spoke to Carl-Erik Westberg about preparing the smorgasbord for Sankta Lucia, a Swedish holiday tradition marking the beginning of the Christmas season. Carl-Erik, president of Nordic Harmoni choir, took us back to past celebrations that joined guests and revelers to share traditional dishes, festive drinks and classic songs and hymns each December 13th. 

While this year Sankta Lucia dinners at the Landgrove Inn are cancelled, stay tuned for their return in 2021. Thank you for talking to us Carl-Erik and for sharing glogg and song with Vermonters all these years.
