Join staff, campers, and guest artists for a free lunchtime concert at Trad Camp!
Trad Camp is a week-long summer camp for youth aged 8-18. It is a concentrated opportunity to be inspired by, learn about and perform tunes, songs, and dances in a variety of traditional styles.
Each day we invite the public to join us for a free (donations accepted!) lunchtime concert with one of our guest artists. On Wednesday, July 26 we welcome Jeh Kulu Dance and Drum Theater. Jeh Kulu Dance and Drum Theater invites you to join us in celebration through traditional West African music and dance. In the Bambara language of Mali, “Jeh Kulu” means “community” and this is exactly what we hope to build with our audiences! Founded in 1993, Jeh Kulu brings together people of all ages and backgrounds to honor the joyous traditions of West Africa.
Our vision is to raise cultural awareness, create a sense of community, and, at the same time, have fun! Jeh Kulu is comprised of talented artists who share traditional rhythms and dances from the countries of Guinea, Senegal and Mali, West Africa.
